It was an honour for me to attend and speak at the CIBC Run for the Cure this morning at UVic. I was told that over 3,000 people are participating this year. I want to acknowledge the Oak Bay Believers who raised $3,000 and our Oak Bay firefighters who volunteered at the event. I am sure that there are hundreds more Oak Bay residents involved in the Run, given that we are all touched by cancer. I counted this morning how many loved ones and women friends I have who are surviving a breast cancer diagnosis and the number is 10. For those of you who donated and who participated, THANK YOU, on behalf of cancer survivors and those of us who have been fortunate not to know how it feels to get such a diagnosis.
People are running for their future and for a cure. Go!
