Back Home in Oak Bay

DSC02206

After nearly three weeks overseas, visiting Iceland, Scotland and England, it’s good to be home in Oak Bay.  Coming home, I am reminded how truly fortunate we are to live in a community that is special, nestled by the sea, boasts beautiful homes and gardens, has a vibrant village economy and embraces neighbourhoods and neighbours.  I guess you have to leave home to learn that “absence makes the heart grow fonder.”

We have amenities, our community is ranked as one of the safest in BC and our streets are relatively quiet.  We have no real conception of what density, crowds and congestion mean until we have visited other places in the world such as Scotland and England.

Yes, it’s good to be home and I look forward to a productive fall, representing you as an Oak Bay Council member.  We still have a lot to do over the next year and I hope that with your support, some of our community goals will be achieved.

The next Council meeting is September 9th when the Clive proposal will be on the agenda.  See you then.
