Loss of Tireless Heritage Advocate

DSC01945

It with regret and sadness that I have to let you know about the loss yesterday of Oak Bay resident, heritage volunteer and tireless heritage advocate Judith Anderson, who passed away after a lengthy illness.  Judith was a devotee of heritage for many years and was well known in Victoria and Oak Bay heritage circles.  Last year, I had the privilege of visiting her heritage home on Roslyn Road after she applied to have her house designated.  In May of this year, Oak Bay Council approved the designation, a legacy that Judith leaves to our community.  I am fortunate to have a little bit of Judith in our home — she gave the previous owner of our home some old green ceramic tiles from an old house she owned and those tiles were installed here as part of a front window renovation.

Judith was much admired and respected by all of those who knew and worked with her, and she will be greatly missed by so many.
