Despite a cold blustery morning, dozens of dogs and their owners showed up for the Windsor Park Dog Group’s annual Christmas Party at Windsor Park Pavilion. Council members were invited to attend and I was joined by Councillor Pam Copley. The Group is well known for its work on promoting responsible dog ownership in Oak Bay and submitted to Council earlier this year, a comprehensive dog management report that will be used as a template for enhancements to local parks and beach areas to accommodate dogs and owners. There were treats galore of the canine and human kind, hot coffee and an opportunity for dogs to run and play while their owners shared stories and wished one another a happy holiday season. Thanks to Gloria Back and her volunteers who organized the party and welcomed everyone.
