RESOLUTION A-8 ENDORSED BY UBCM

Those of you supporting the endorsement of UBCM Resolution A-8, brought by the Saanich Municipality, related to expansion of oil tanker traffic on the West Coast (for details, see earlier blog post of a few days ago), will be pleased to learn that the resolution was endorsed by UBCM delegates this morning.

Thank you for getting in touch with Oak Bay Council members to make your feelings known about this important resolution, an attempt to further protect our pristine coast and its communities from a potentially catastrophic oil spill. The resolution passed with a narrow margin but “a miss is as good as a mile” and the convention has endorsed it.  I voted to support this resolution.
