HAPPY 35TH BIRTHDAY TO OAK BAY’S VOLUNTEERS!

On September 19 in the afternoon, Oak Bay Volunteers will celebrate and be recognized and honoured for 35 years of serving their community and making the lives of others just a little bit easier with all that they do.

I am honoured to attend the celebration at the Oak Bay Rec Centre and will join other Council members to mark this milestone birthday and commemorate the wonderful work so many volunteers do on behalf of others and all of us.

I have said it before, that volunteers are the heart and soul of this community, as they are in communities all over the region, all over BC and throughout Canada.  They define what selfless service to others means and they fill so many gaps and cracks in existing social programs that, without our volunteers, those most vulnerable and most in need would not be reached or served.

Thank you Oak Bay Volunteers!
