Victoria Foundation Launches Vital Signs Report

I attended a breakfast meeting on October 4 to help launch the Victoria Foundation’s latest annual report on the Capital Region’s quality of life, called “Vital Signs.”  These survey results provide valuable insights and a barometer on how the region is doing on such issues as affordability, homelessness, employment, housing, health and other local lifestyle topics that impact people living in our neighbourhoods and communities.

The Victoria Foundation celebrates a long and impressive history in Victoria of matching “people who care with causes that matter.”  Their philanthropic contributions have provided millions of dollars to countless organizations throughout the Capital Region that make a difference to the lives of individuals and families.

The survey results also help to inform local and regional governments on policy, planning and program development, ensuring that services provided help to meet real community needs.  I applaud the work of the Victoria Foundation and consider them one of our most valuable community partners.
